Hugo Chavez has proven he is not a dictator; he did not override the loss of the constitutional changes he advocated in the constitutional referendum. Now tha= t it has been clearly shown that the Venezuelan government is democratic, any questions that had been lingering about the legitimacy of the Chavez presid= ency have dissolved completely. Hugo Ch= avez is a democratically elected president who is at the head of a democratic state. The people decide in Venezu= ela, no tyranny or dictator is to be found. Any claims to the contrary would now be completely baseless. The people of Venezuela and their democratically-elected president deserve recognition, respect, and support from the rest of the world.

There is no re= ason to question the legitimacy of the presidency of Hugo Chavez.

The constitution of Venezuela has been supported as it= is; the majority of the people in Venezuela have shown their support for their constitution. The Venezuelan constitution is what the majority of Venezuelan people want, they voted to = not change it at all. The people of Venezuela may yet vote to change their constitution, th= at remains to be seen. Any future vot= e by the people of Venezuela should also be seen as legitimate, their sovereignty and the legitimacy of their governmental structure has<= /span> been concretized. The constitution= of Venezuela deserves recognition, respect, and support from the rest of the world.

Now that the question of the legitimacy of the preside= ncy and constitution of Venezuela has been completely resolved it is clear that no one should attempt to interfere with or destroy that legitimate presidency and constitution. Anyone or any government, who would interfere with a legitimate demo= cratically-elected government and its people’s constitution, with the goal of overthrowing that democratically elected government, would be, to say the least, acting undemocratically and disrespectfully toward the citizens and government of = that country, and to the concept of sovereignty and democracy generally.

Anyone or any foreign government to the north, south, = east, or west that does not fully respect, congratulate, and support the democrat= ically-affirmed presidency of Hugo Chavez, and the democratically-affirmed constitution of Venezuela, is behaving in an antidemocratic way.
